LCRF’s Inaugural Young Professionals Evening of Cocktails
On May 19th, LCRF hosted its first Young Professionals Committee event at No.8 in Manhattan’s meatpacking district. The “Evening of Cocktails” featured an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by DJ Noam. The event garnered support from more than 200 professionals in their 20’s and 30’s. Dr. Brendon Stiles, thoracic surgeon and lung cancer researcher at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell, gave brief remarks about the current state of lung cancer research. The party continued well into the evening, raising nearly $19,000 in support of LCRF’s mission to improve and save lives by funding groundbreaking research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer.
The Committee aims to engage young professionals in LCRF’s cause, and plans to fundraise and increase awareness through a variety of social events and networking opportunities held throughout the year.
