Every year, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation hosts Strides for Life, a three-mile run-walk around Lake Agawam in Southampton, NY, to increase awareness for lung cancer and raise funds to benefit innovative research at top medical institutions. The event also includes a 50-yard dash for children. Participants come from the Hamptons community, the tri-state area and beyond, and include professional runners, first-time runners, teams, families, children and many other lung cancer research supporters.

An afternoon of kite designing and flying, face painting, carnival games and more awaits you at this year’s event. Elliot’s Legacy was founded in memory of Elliot R. Chalmé, an avid cyclist and kite enthusiast who fought bravely against lung cancer and inspired others to do the same.

The Garden City Teachers' Association is proud to announce that over the past four years GC For A Cure has raised over $100,000 for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In addition, Uniting Against Lung Cancer, through their Kites For A Cure initiative at GC For A Cure, has raised both awareness and over $7,000 to support their innovative research into the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
