Thirteenth Annual Lung Cancer Awareness Luncheon

On Thursday, November 1, 2018, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation hosted its Thirteenth Annual Lung Cancer Awareness Luncheon at The Pierre in New York City. LCRF announced the recipients of its 2018 Scientific Grant Program. The keynote address was given by Kwok-Kin Wong, MD, PhD, from New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Wong provided an update on the current state of lung cancer and spoke about the way in which his research has transformed the landscape of lung cancer through the development of new models to study the disease. Guest speaker, Bruce C. Dunbar, shared his journey and personal experience as he lives with ALK-positive lung cancer. Both Mr. Dunbar and Dr. Wong highlighted how research funded by LCRF has fueled advances in the development of treatments such as those that have benefitted Mr. Dunbar and other lung cancer patients.
