Manager, Community Engagement

The Manager, Community Engagement will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and raising revenue for LCRF’s peer-to-peer fundraising programs, specifically work on the DIY and peer-to-peer social initiatives. This role will report to VP, Community Engagement + Outreach and is a remote position.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Strategic Development:

  • Manage, oversee, and serve as lead staff for DIY and Peer-to-Peer Social fundraising intiatives
  • Develop strategy for growing LCRF’s DIY + Peer-to-Peer Social fundraising initaitives
  • Develop campaigns, resources that support growth strategy and volunteer needs (ie – event/campaign “in-a-box” tools)
  • Partner with Marketing + Communications team to develop mass communications plans for DIY + Peer to Peer Social initiatives that align with org-wide plans

Fundraising and Volunteer Management:

  • Manage, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of relationships with volunteers, fundraisers, supporters, and prospects to build affinity for LCRF and enhance constituents’ overall impact on mission
  • Recruit, train, coach, manage, and support volunteers’ fundraising efforts – including development of goals and plans 
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee budget and ensure budgeted net outcomes are achieved
  • Track, measure, and analyze peer-to-peer fundraising data to ensure goals and benchmarks are achieved

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, engage and activate constituents across LCRF’s programmatic and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with development team to identify prospects for major gifts and board leadership

Qualifications

  • A dynamic, driven and sophisticated professional excited by the opportunity to help grow and shape the future of the Lung Cancer Research Foundation
  • Proven success in fund development and executing on goals as well as experience leading and partnering with volunteers to achieve desired outcomes 
  • Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and balance big picture strategy and execution against plans
  • Values a collaborative environment, enjoys working with a team, and appreciates making connections
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding, articulate and persuasive communication skills, with well-honed relationship building skills and excellent public speaking and presentation abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in development, including nonprofit event management and peer-to-peer fundraising experience
  • Ability to travel for meetings and events (up to 10%)
