Fifteenth Annual Strolling Supper

On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF™) hosted its Fifteenth Annual Strolling Supper. More than 500 lung cancer supporters gathered at Gotham Hall in New York City for an evening of cocktails, light fare and entertainment, raising more than $1.2 million for lung cancer research.

The event, hosted by WABC’s Bill Ritter, featured a surprise performance by Tony Award-nominee and television star, Norm Lewis, accompanied by Joseph Joubert. Lewis performed Frank Sinatra’s hit “New York, New York” and “Music of the Night” from Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera.

In a video titled Together, LCRF Board Chair, Brendon M. Stiles, MD announced LCRF’s recent merger with Free to Breathe. By joining forces, the new LCRF will make an even greater impact on closing the funding gap for lung cancer research.

To date, the new LCRF has funded a cumulative 342 grants, totaling nearly $34 million, and representing the highest amount of funding provided by an organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer research. In addition to funding lung cancer research, LCRF will focus on lung cancer awareness and education programs.

The Foundation will also host 50 public events annually throughout the country. The Strolling Supper is part of LCRF’s New York event series, which also includes the Strides for Life Run/Walk, the Lung Cancer Awareness Luncheon, Elliot’s Legacy: Kites for a Cure and the Brooklyn Free to Breathe Run/Walk.
