Lung cancer is a malignant tumor that forms in the tissues of the lungs, usually in the cells lining air passages. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are the two main types of lung cancer.
Through our scientific grant program, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation provides funding for innovative research focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer.
To increase lung cancer awareness and support the research that will help eradicate it, we encourage supporters to participate in these events or host their own to fundraise for LCRF.
The Lung Cancer Research Foundation is grateful to our supporters and volunteers, all of whom are vital in helping us realize our mission.
Funding research geared to finding a cure is a large part of what LCRF does. However, the Foundation is also dedicated to fostering community and supporting those whose lives have been forever changed by the disease.
The Lung Cancer Research Foundation's Philadelphia Free to Breathe Run/Walk was highlighted recently when lung cancer survivor and advocate Lee Bender appeared on 6ABC's Action News
