Summary:
Dr. Molina is investigating predictive biomarkers in bronchioalveolar carcinoma (BAC). He is establishing a large tissue bank to determine if there are specific biomarkers found in tissue samples from patients with or without BAC admitted to the Mayo Clinic between 1977 and 1997 that correlate to disease recurrence and metastasis.

Dr. Molina has identified Eya-4, a tumor-promoting gene, as a potential biomarker and has undertaken extensive analysis of methylation and expression, and correlation to clinical outcomes.
