Anne LaPorte, who told her lung cancer story during LCRF’s 2021 Free to Breathe Walk, was interviewed for a CNN feature on COVID-19 era cancer screening and diagnosis.
Anne was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer just over a year ago. Before her diagnosis, she saw at least three primary care doctors and made three trips to the emergency room.
The CNN story explored declines in cancer screenings as well as barriers to accessing treatment, and how those delays might lead to patients’ cancer advancing before diagnosis.
