MUC1 Splice Variants and Estrogen Receptors in Lung Adenocarcinoma
Dr. Young is investigating MUC1, a protein found to interact with estrogen receptors. His research will help understand if and how estrogen signaling contributes to the increased risk of lung adenocarcinoma among women.
Thus far, however, data has shown that gender differences are not due to MUC1 splicing. Work investigating the relationship between MUC1 and estrogen receptors is ongoing.
