Our DNA: A Blueprint for Lung Cancer Research
What We Know, What We’re Learning, and Why It Matters for Patients
On May 14, join us for a special edition of Together Separately, presented by LCRF and the Susan Wojcicki Foundation, where we’ll explore what heritable genetics — separate from tumor testing — can tell us about lung cancer, and how patients are helping to drive the next generation of research.
Our guest expert, Sandip Patel, MD, and our moderator, Isabel Preeshagul, DO, MBS, will break down the difference between heritable genetics and tumor genomics in lung cancer, and why both matter. Then we’ll hear from patients who have been involved in shaping the Lung Cancer Genetics Study, a collaboration between the Susan Wojcicki Foundation, the 23andMe Research Institute, and more than 20 patient advocacy organizations, and what that work means for the lung cancer community.
Dr. Patel is a medical oncologist and professor of medicine for UC San Diego Health. Dr. Preeshagul is a thoracic oncologist with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We also welcome Janet Freeman-Daily, Co-Founder & President, The ROS1ders; and Marc Muskavitch, who serves on the Board of Directors for ALK Positive Inc.

Join us live at 1:30PM ET, or watch the recording after. Register now for this free event!
About The Susan Wojcicki Foundation
Susan Wojcicki was a visionary tech leader, CEO of YouTube, and mother of five who was diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer at 54, despite having no known risk factors. True to her spirit of innovation and collaboration, Susan spent her remaining two years uniting scientists, advocates, and industry leaders to accelerate progress in understanding and treating the disease.
The Susan Wojcicki Foundation recently launched to carry forward her vision with a commitment to breakthrough research and development. Guided by the belief that no one should lose a loved one to lung cancer, the foundation focuses on expanded screening and life-saving innovations for early detection and prevention.
